The museum is suitable for ski experts and non-skiers alike. Everyone is invited to dive into the history of this sport and follow the story of its evolution, from early beginnings to modern day.
The museum is located in the former restaurant at Le Boéchet train station. Complete renovation work began on the building, owned by Andrée Guenat, in 2019 and would take over two years to complete. The Fondation du Musée du Ski was created in 2021 and acquired Laurent Donzé’s collection, boosting the project’s viability. In parallel, work to sort and archive the collection began, as well as the scenography, designed in collaboration with atelier oï. The museum opened its doors in autumn 2023.
